A BIT ABOUT ME I am a professional, business and personal coach who supports people in their desire to overcome the obstacles that limit them in their lives and help them explore new paths, thereby enabling them to create the life THEY choose, to re-gain their own power, and to live by decision, not default!
My incredibly diverse exposure to all kinds of people and situations, together with my deep interest in supporting others in their need to grow, has brought me to the coaching profession. It has become both my passion and my life's work which, given my eclectic background, is really saying something!
The unusual path that I've followed throughout my life has made me particularly well-suited to coaching. While I have certainly had my share of formal education, including a B.A. in Sociology, summa cum laude, from Temple University, a J.D. from Temple, and advanced coach training from Coach University (a pre-eminent coaching school), I am, at heart, a lifelong entrepreneur. I have been self-employed forever (actually since I was 18 years old which, at this ripe old age of 53, certainly seems like forever)! I've chosen such diverse occupations as that of a bicycle messenger and taxicab driver in New York City, and owner and operator of a trucking company in both New York and Philadelphia. Then, somewhat inexplicably, I chose to do a twenty year stint as an attorney, owning my own law practice in both Philadelphia and New Jersey (from which occupation I'm most happily "recovered"!).
My involvement in the areas of both business ownership and law, for my entire working career, in conjunction with my eternal self-employed status, has afforded me the privilege of easily relating to and understanding the issues that arise for people in these positions in life - I simply "get it". As such, I do a great deal of coaching with business owners, professionals and executives, dealing with the issues that arise for them within both their work environment and their personal life. I also regularly coach people in all stages of transition in their lives (regardless of age), as I'm clearly no stranger to change and the issues that arise during those periods in one's life. I also coach people who are simply "stuck" and need support in getting out of their own way - a situation to which we can all certainly relate.
As an integral part of my coaching practice, I do both individual and group coaching, and facilitate workshops, seminars and presentations - and love every minute of it (really)! I'm also a weekly columnist for the Baby Boomer section of the Courier Post (South Jersey's largest newspaper), and blog for them as well.
I always offer every potential client a complimentary coaching session to determine, together with the client, whether the chemistry between us is right, thereby assuring that the client will gain the maximum benefit from our coaching relationship.
I'm affiliated with Coach University, the International Coach Federation, and the New Jersey Professional Coaches Association.
