WHO WORKS WITH A COACH?
The world of coaching has touched the lives of people in every imaginable situation, both in the professional and personal realms. While coaching can benefit anyone, often people in very typical situations (as indicated below), as well as those who are simply "stuck" in a place they no longer want to be, regularly choose to hire a coach to support them in moving forward from where they are to where they wish to be.
Many people choose to address the challenges that arise out of their career and workplace. Some need support in making decisions regarding their options to remain in their current work/career or to seek alternatives to their present situations; others seek answers as to how they can deal with situations arising within their work realm, learning and perfecting skill sets required with their job descriptions, working with difficult people, and so on; others need better work/life balance, time management, organizational skills - the list goes on.
Business owners often need to address the difficulties of attempting to achieve some balance within their work and home life - often feeling conflicted between being there for their families and loved ones while striving to maintain a thriving business in a very competitive market. Others choose to concentrate on business issues - marketing, employee concerns, cash flow and profitability, operational issues, time management - this list goes on as well.
Professionals. executives, corporates and those who work in organizations also choose coaching for a variety of reasons, some similar to those of business owners, but also for situations uniquely applicable to their specific workplaces. Some of these include professional networking issues, internal corporate competition, company culture issues, client acquisition and retention, the honing of skill sets such as communication and leadership skills, team building, and the like.
Others are in the midst of difficult life transitions, whether it be Baby Boomer/Mid-life issues, Quarter-life concerns, or simply life circumstances that have altered one's current reality, regardless of age, such as loss, illness, career changes, relationships - of course, this list is also endless.
Often, people choose to employ a coach when they're simply in a place where they feel "stuck" in life, and need some help getting out of their own way to clear the path for future choices.
Know, however, that there are no rules for anyone's agenda other than those which the client chooses. Remember, the client is the Captain of the Coaching Ship - the coach simply helps to navigate the waters.
